I love the connections I have made while serving at dissimilar level of my life .
Making personal connections is so incredibly important , especially in a rural setting where everyone live everyone .
Social medium connections are o.k. , but personal connections are what really makes things hap .

If someone know you personally , they are more apt to help you in the hereafter . I am living cogent evidence of this as I go along to make connections through Farm Bureau .
I ’ve also reconnected with quondam college admirer who are also involved . It ’s playfulness to reminisce on good times and tattle about what ’s going on now in our life .
Meeting other bloggers in my niche and influential speakers during conferences has also been a huge welfare .
You ca n’t connection too much for the goal you want to achieve .

As state committee members , Matt and I are just a gradation into where we could be . There are more opportunities at our grasp to become influential industriousness leaders .
There is plenty of chance for insurance policy leadership and commission study . And you do n’t have to be approached to be a part of it .
You want to connect and electronic connection to obtain the opportunities that will make a difference with your voice .
As I continue to develop with Farm Bureau , gaining new networks will help me to learn more .
People Notice You
How you get regard in your industry extremely depends on who you know .
I was set about by a localFarm Bureaumember who was also our neighbour . He encourage us to attend the DoS Young Farmers & Ranchers conference .
In case you do n’t know anything aboutFarm Bureau , just sleep together it is the “ Voice for Agriculture . ”
At this first motion to attend this conference , we were completely incognizant of the opportunities properly in front of us .
So , we have the step to pull up stakes our farm farm and assist the league . Yes , we enjoyed it . Five years later , we somehow found our way onto the state committee as representatives from our district .
How did we do this ?
We were noticed . We were go steady as potential drawing card .
Glenn Brunkhow , who blog atDust on the Dashboard , is also a loss leader inFarm Bureau . He ’s a admirer of Matt and mine who twisted our arm enough to ill-use into the role of a leader .
With all of our responsibilities at home and a new baby coming , we really did n’t know what we were getting ourselves into . I ’m certain this is why many vernal farmers and rancher are hesitating to get involve .
But it has all been worth it to me . So far , Matt and I have only seen benefits of serving the industry we screw .
As a teen in the Future Farmers of America ( FFA ) , I memorise the catchword : “ Learning to Do , Doing to Learn , make to Live , Living to Serve . ”
populate to serve . This is what I ’m living now by serving in the agrarian industry .
As a new high schooltime student in FFA , I learn to set goal . end that would serve me to achieve more with my life .
My own farming operation was far far into the aloofness at that sentence . However , I was already go to dish local organisation . I was serving through my 4 - H , FFA , Church and community natural process .
I turn up in a rural community where everyone serve their fourth dimension to create opportunities for growth . minuscule did I realise , this was the biggest lesson I would ever re - learn .
Learning to Do, Doing to Learn
process my community of interests as a young person teach me that I can take action . I study to “ do . ”
And while I was doing , I was determine province , compassion , and grace . And people were watching me .
I made unassailable connection by working with others in the community and becoming a role simulation for younger small fry .
Most significantly , I was helping to produce the establishment I was serving because of my exuberance for the oeuvre I was doing .
leading became instilled into me just by reach some of my time to making my rural biotic community and organization better .
As an involved youngster , I learned my voice could be heard .
Earning to Live
Fast forward numerous class after . I finished college , married Matt and we bug out our farm .
A family farm that would maturate into a business sector . Yes , a money - making patronage to tip our kinfolk .
for farm everlastingly , I learned we needed to make an income from our farm . We , as business owners , need to continue to learn new ways to make money from our land .
Some of these way include : The use of engineering science , efficient use of input and successful criminal record keeping .

Not only is this important for our menage farm , but for others as well . This is why Matt and I both have determine to become more involved in our industriousness .
After attend conferences and meeting , Matt and I can take the entropy we see back to our biotic community to aid others .
By render educational materials and seminars for masses through Extension and 4 - H , on - site demonstrations , andFarm Bureau , we hope to help oneself sodbuster and ranchers not only substantiate their incomes but expand their knowledge as well .
Knowledge and expansion , I think , is the samara to successful emergence .
The Risk Of Serving in Industry Associations
When Matt and I both have to leave the farm to service , there are risks take .
For one , we leave the animals behind . We ca n’t take them with us .
There is much planning that goes into leaving the farm . Plus , the peril of entrust someone enough to feed and wish for your farm animal if you have them .
Luckily , we have our parent who have gracefully claim care of our farmstead and livestock with the best of their power . There have been very few problem while we ’ve been croak and we have our great caretakers to give thanks for that .
All you’re able to do is plan the best you’re able to . meeting and events come up .
That ’s just the risk you take when you live to serve .
Living to Serve
[ Tweet “ I believe the benefit still outweigh the risks of industriousness participation . “ ]
alternative for serving the manufacture are interminable .
There are opportunities to serve a rural setting at the local , state , or national story .
As I learned back in my FFA course of study : A life of serve is a lifespan worth live .
If we want our industriousness to be sustainable , we must pitch in our skills , expertise and vocalisation .
How will you become more involved in your industry ?
