Have you ever wanted to create a special get away in the woods where time seemed to put up still ? Where you may unwind . Breathe in the fresh air . And most importantly , reconnect with family , friend , or perhaps just your own thinking .
There is something so very peculiar about disconnect and unbend with nature . Whether it ’s a quiet tenting spot , a diminutive cabin in the woods , or sitting around a fire pit in the tardy evening , enjoying the company and chumminess of protagonist and household .
For geezerhood , we have dreamed of someday find the land to create such a spot . And even more , be able to divvy up and savor it with others who do it being in the great out-of-doors as well .
Well , today , we are so delirious to annunciate that Old World Garden will be expanding to admit such a outer space , and we ca n’t wait to get start on it !
For this post , we have bequeath the scuttlebutt part on . We would love to get some feedback on the plans . And of course , any ideas you might have for it too !
If there is one affair we learn during our 6 + months on the route travel the body politic in ournuCamp Tab400camper , it is that so many of the folks we encounter along the way dreaming of sustain the same exact “ get away ” quad .
As we camp out around the land , we met so many wonderful the great unwashed from so many unlike paseo of aliveness . And devolve in love with all type of camping experiences.(See : The Days of the Trip )
From staying in our own camper , to spending night on working farms , ranches , and even in tiny houses and cabins – we loved it all .
And when we came back to our trivial farm this past March , we returned with a energy and zest to create a space and position that could showcase some of our favorite stays at home all around the country .
One that we could delight with our friends and kin , and share with others looking for the same experience as well .
And so we began looking and looking . And looking some more ! But at last , in recent fall , we found our dreaming space that would be the perfect gain and experience to our current little 3 acre farm .
With just unsure of 20 + Akka of woodwind , eatage and trails , it is truly a rhombus in the rough . One that we hope to create into a get aside for us , our families and friends , and yes , for fellow outdoor lovers to experience too .
Since we often refer to our little 3 Akka homestead asThe Farm , we decided to name our late adventureThe Forest . We thought it was really the utter homage to the 2 things we enjoy the most – horticulture and the great out-of-doors !
Although we ’re keeping the accurate location of “ The Forest ” under wrap for now , we can bring out a few things . And of course , our plan for it all !
It is close enough to the farm to be a part of events here . But , which was a must , far enough away to develop its own identity . And for that , we could n’t be more worked up .
Over the form of the next yr , we will append a few off - grid sleeping cabins . And to those , a few neat fiddling motor home tucked here and there , and a primal lodge/ home building as well .
For the small cabins and the principal lodge , we will be turning shed structures fromWeaver Barnsinto living spaces . It is something we have done already on our little farm , and love how it all works together .
The camping bus will be a really neat touch as well . In fact , we are so delirious that one will be the very nuCamp TAB400 solar powered camper we tour the state in !
in conclusion , we will also make one or two tenting hook - ups around the belongings as well . After all , we ca n’t leave our friends who have campers !
In addition to the campers and cabins , we will be creating a web of trails through the woods . And a few features along the direction . One of which we ca n’t wait to build , will be namedTheHouse In The Trees .
It will be our very own version of a Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree house . Not a house build in a tree – but a bungalow built with living trees incorporate into its social organization . Should be a slap-up escapade for sure !
