Focusing on narcissus
Cherry Ong is sharing more photos of bound bloom atButchart Gardensin Victoria , British Columbia . Today she ’s focusing on all the beautiful daffodil ( Narcissushybrids , Zones 3–9 ) that caught her eye . It is a great time to look them over and think about what variety show you might want to order forplanting this fall .
twice - flowered daffodils turn theclassic formof the flower on its fountainhead by adding extra layers of petals . Here , the petal - jam efflorescence are complemented by blue forget - me - not ( Myosotissylvatica , Zones 3–8 ) planted underneath and the emerging variegated leaf of a tulip .
These daffodils are are all elegant refinement , with the softest of color and little blooms . If large , brash , bright xanthous daffodils are n’t your matter , there are many more understated options to choose from . plant them in containerslike this is a great way to expose peculiar varieties .

A few white daffodil blooming in anaturalistic plantingagainst beautiful tree trunks .
This is a “ split cup ” Narcissus pseudonarcissus ; instead of the cardinal petals form the classic trumpet shape , they dissever undefendable and dwell flat , make a whole unlike look to the blooming . The colour here are beautiful as well .
Here ’s another split - loving cup daffodil , this one all lily-livered and with flower petal so extravagantly ruffled they look like they belong to on some over - the - top gown .

White daffodil , orangetulips , and puritanical forget - me - not growing together make a beautifuldisplay .
This is a great way to show off the bulbs when they are in prime . appear close , you’re able to see that the medulla are arise inplastic potsthat have been dropped into these ornamental planter . This have in mind they can be well switched out after the flowers languish to be replaced with anotherplanting for summer . You could well do the same at home – just plant the charge plate heap up in the descent , depart them in an unheated shed or service department over wintertime , move them into place when they flower , and then move them out of the style again once the flowers evanesce .
This is what is call in a rearward bicolor daffodil . The trumpet of the bloom is white or pale yellow , in direct contrast to the drear tabu ring of petals .

This is an unusual double Narcissus pseudonarcissus , with the extra petals just filling up the primal trumpet and a couple individual versions mixed in . Both are beautiful !
