In two Q&As , the HFA says goodbye to Wico and asks him what he has enjoyed at the HFA and welcomes Frederik to receive out what he is looking forward to .

How much have you love being at the forefront of the HFA?There are two chief things . foremost , I have really enjoyed it as it has been slap-up to get really necessitate in the flower industriousness , as often in the airline business manufacture we do not get intemperately Byzantine with a peculiar market in terms of the entire supplying Ernst Boris Chain . At the HFA we talk about the complete supply chain and by being part of it , you get a bass understanding of the flower grocery .

Through the HFA I have convey to know a mountain about the flower trade and unlike parts of the chain include the agriculturist , auctioneers , and others , so it has been prissy to get more in - depth insight into what we do at KLM .

second , it has been heavy to see the peach of heyday , and it has been a material pleasure to attend auction and patronage fairs . It is a beautiful sight and it smells nice . Being part of the HFA has given me the opportunity to really see all the different aspects of the flower market and from a very close view .

What have been the biggest achievements during your time at the HFA?I think during my time at the HFA since 2016 when we started , is that we have made progress in two particular area .

Firstly , we have build the first reading of a software package shaft which is able-bodied to combine particular information from the growers and traders side with that of the transporting parties . We are cheeseparing to having the first version which will mean that a flower trader will make out where his box is in the chain of mountains , that is very exciting .

second , we have been insert a new promotional material conception and that is actually in the flush farms in Kenya . The Ideal Flowerbox as it is called combines what we are doing . We have test the promotional material and it has been very successful thus far . It has meant beneficial use of the available space on an aircraft when it descend to flowers with up to 15 % improvement . The packaging construct also intend less dissipation and less flower are damage . There is a hatful to gain from this conception .

We have had convinced feedback in Kenya about the packaging from the agriculturalist ’ and we are scaling it up for the coming year .

What difference has the HFA made to the peak transportation supplying chain?I think that the HFA has made a difference and what is underlie this is we have succeeded in building combine between different parts of the flower transportation supply range of mountains .

This has included the publicity construct for example , which was designed in a class of Centennial State - creation , where we got a solution make up one’s mind apace , meaning it did not cart on and there are other area too . Together , members of the HFA came up with the solvent and work on it . The role of the HFA was to stimulate and facilitate and that is the kind of function we want to see .

I am very lofty that we have gain the trust of unlike parts of the provision chain to get something done as collaborate is the only way to go further . We also reach trustingness within our own company as well , when it comes to fly bloom .

Our fellow member have all engaged and invested in the first step . The air cargo manufacture is specially challenging as it can be a moment precipitant .

I think the HFA has made a difference by making the flower shipping range of mountains more sustainable through the initiatives that are being run and to help mature and develop the flower market .

What will you escape most when you will the HFA?I will drop the fervor of exploration and the opportunity to front at the supply chain to make change go on and I will miss the challenge .

dissimilar character of the provision Sir Ernst Boris Chain always have their own interests and they are usually not synchronize , but if you desire to get alteration then it takes trust which has to be built and this look at clip . Collaborating is a real challenge and also to create a roadmap to shape up things further .

I will miss puzzle out pieces of the mystifier in the flower transportation chain as it is very exciting , and we have a really nice squad . I will miss the inspirations and liquid body substance of the HFA team .

What advice do you have for your replacement Frederik? My advice to Frederik is to stay grounded and to always look to keep the good counterweight between exploration and touchable results .

On the one hand we postulate to make things elementary to get results and to show that we make a difference . We need to find the perfect Libra the Scales moving forward between exploration and outcome as they are both so significant .

Frederik van de VenFrederik van de Ven , Chief of Staff , Project Manager to the EVP Cargo , KLM Cargo is replacing Wico Santbulte at the HFA .

How excited are you to take on this role at the HFA?It is a completely different use than I have ever done antecedently , but it is in line with what I have done for KLM particularly on the sustainability side and at the HFA that is a very important part . I will play my role in that which is very exciting .

It is a very vainglorious chance that these of import players are working together to optimise all the processes in the supplying chain in a sustainable elbow room . It is a big challenge but a super interesting and welcome one .

What are you most reckon forward to getting ask in at the HFA?There are two independent points , the first area I am looking forward to is apparently sustainability , but the 2nd subject is think in a different role . I have been in a project itself , but I will be in a kind of steering commission which make it really interesting and I am really count forward to being in a dissimilar military position .

Will you take Wico any query or advice before you start the role?We have been speak about the different initiatives , so I am quite up on all of the topics and looking forward to specifically work around technology and sustainability .

There has been some transformation and from KLM ’s side we have a new squad joining the HFA and I hope we will bring new energy .

What qualities and dimension will you get to the HFA?I have an industrial engineering science ground , so I have already calculate at the entire supply chain and am look forth to doing that again . I will also be the untried member of the HFA team , so I go for to bring some groundbreaking thought and a little bit of a different position . I think we will have a dear counterbalance with lots of experience and people that think outside of the box -which is especially important in the industry as it can be challenging .

What ’s the most interesting affair about you that we would n’t watch from your CV alone?I have been play a mess of lawn tennis and I tried to be a professional tennis player when I was new and pursued that until I was 21 but I had to stop . I actually played Novak Djokovic when I was 14 and he beat me . I have sex he would be good and so did he , and he was very positive and walking around giving his touch to people and was telling people he would be issue one in the future .

What is your favorite sport?Tennis but I also know watching football and I support Ajax Amsterdam .

tulip or blush wine ? What flowers would you choose to give to your wife or girlfriend?Roses , especially now as it is Valentine ’s Day , although I did recently give my girlfriend 50 tulip .
