Today we get a kickshaw from Nancy Singham in Evanston , Illinois . She visited theFrederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Parkin Grand Rapids , Michigan , in 2010 during a Chihuly Methedrine exhibit , and want to divvy up it with us .
Nancy says,“While the garden has lots and dozens of populace class sculpture set fondly into its wide diverseness of garden configurations , the pictures I chose here included the colorful glassware ofDale Chihuly , whose work was sport that summertime throughout Meijer Gardens . I have seen his employment displayed in several other public gardens in the US , but I especially love these because of the way the glass , the plants , and the midwestern landscape painting all interact with each other .
“ As you could see , there is a wide of the mark chain of mountains of garden options , from waterfall to wetland , and meadows to more schematic gardens close to building . But each context enhances the field glass sculptures while at the same clock time , the sculpture convey the setting into sharp relief . The anatomy , the coloration , and the texture of the glass all have to relate to the surrounding plants . Come to the middle west and see our garden ! ”
Meijer Gardens is on my tilt for this summer , Nancy ! I ca n’t wait to get there . I do think this is one of the just displays of Chihuly glass I ’ve ever go out in a public garden . It ’s so tasteful and beautiful . Thanks so much !
