Caryopteris incana ( Bluebeard )
C. incana is very like C. clandonensis except that the leaves are redolent and sharply dentated , and the flowers are usually in the purple - dreary range but may sometimes be blanched . Foliage is narrow-minded and grey-headed - green and is gently fragrant as are the flower and stems . This deciduous bush has bright grim to purple , late summertime blossom that attract butterflies . Flowers come along on raw growth , so prune back hard to the land early on each spring ....
